TAMALPA EXPERIENCE WORKSHOP
with Adriana Marchione, Tamalpa faculty

January 15 & 16, 2011, 10:00am –5pm

If your body could speak, what would it say?

The Tamalpa Experience introduces an approach that enlivens dialogue between body and imagination, life experiences and art making. Using movement, drawing, poetic writing, and improvisational performance, participants will tap into art's symbolic language to explore current life themes and generate new resources.

These 2-day intensive workshops are offered twice a year and are designed to give participants an experiential understanding of Tamalpa's work in movement-based healing arts. Recommended as an introduction to the training programs.

Where: Mountain Home Studio, Kentfield, California

When: January 15 & 16, 2011, 10:00am –5pm

Cost: $250 (includes a $50 credit voucher towards Level 1 training. Good for 2 years.)

BODY PORTRAITS:
EXPRESSIVE ARTS THERAPY GROUP

Eight Wednesday Nights, February 2 – March 30 (with no group March 16th)

Using ‘Body Part Mythology’, a method of movement-based expressive arts, Body Portraits provides an opportunity for participants to engage in life themes and stories through the body. Using drawing, movement and dance, creative writing, performance improvisation as well as somatic (body-based) exercises, this group offers the opportunity to:

  • Expand physical and emotional well-being
  • Develop a stronger body image
  • Vision new ways of relating to self and others
  • Learn creative tools to deepen self-awareness leading to positive change

No art or movement experience necessary.

Where: A-Muse Gallery, 614 Alabama Street, San Francisco, CA

When: Wednesdays, February 2 -March 30, 2011 from 6:30 – 9:00 pm, (No group March 16th)

Cost: $375, Payment plans available. Deposit of $75 to hold your space.

BRIDGING LIFE AND ART:
MOVEMENT AND ARTS PROCESS GROUP

Eight Tuesday Nights, April 5 – May 24

Using methods drawn from the movement-based expressive arts work of Tamalpa Institute, this eight week group is an opportunity to bring your personal material into creative expression. This group will support you to:

  • Release emotional baggage and tell your stories though images, dances and poetry
  • Find inspiration, and a stronger sense of connection to your authentic self
  • Communicate more deeply with others through aesthetic feedback
  • Allow a stronger sense of freedom and play into your life

No art or movement experience necessary.
